Who coaching is for
Business coaching fits three situations:
- You’re an R&D leader facing a decision you can’t delegate. Before you commit, you want to think it through with someone who isn’t part of your organization.
- Your unit is going through a change – agile adoption, AI integration, reorganization. You want clarity about your role and the next steps.
- You’re preparing decisions where methods, organization, and AI strategy come together – with a counterpart who knows this practice firsthand.
Confidential and open-ended: you keep every decision, and you get no ready-made recipes from me unless you ask for them. A friend who runs an R&D unit knows your day-to-day, but not the coaching craft; a classic coach knows the craft, but not your day-to-day. With me you get both – as a fixed appointment, not a favor between friends.
Coach — consultant or trainer on request
Pure coaching means: I ask questions, you find your answers. Often that’s enough. If at some point you want my professional assessment or concrete methods knowledge, I switch roles, name that switch transparently, and afterwards return to coaching with you. You decide if and when.
- As a coach (the default): I ask questions, you decide. Confidential and open-ended.
- As a consultant: experience from 18 years of R&D leadership and ongoing industry projects.
- As a trainer: methods knowledge (Scrum, Kanban, Portfolio-Kanban, AI workflows), taught directly.
Packages
10-Hour Coaching Package
Ten sessions, one clearly scoped topic.
Pure coaching, without consulting or training elements. Suited to a well-defined strategy or leadership block: preparing a reorganization, clarifying a role during a restructuring, or a phase full of hard decisions.
What you'll have afterwards:
- A decision you make and can justify – instead of pushing it ahead of you.
- An ordered view of what comes next.
- A clear picture of how your leadership behavior affects the team.
Leadership and Role Coaching
For your own role as a leader.
1:1 coaching for leaders and emerging talent, away from concrete methods questions. For stepping into a new leadership role, taking stock of where you stand, or a phase where your results fall short of your own standards. Pure coaching.
What you'll have afterwards:
- Clarity about your role and your next step.
- A realistic picture of your strengths and motivation.
- More confidence in situations that have challenged you so far.
Three Roles, One Mandate
Coaching, consulting, and training combined – depending on the phase.
For tasks that need more than pure coaching. The three roles are combined as needed: coaching for clarity, consulting for the methodical approach, training for the tools. I announce upfront which role I'm taking at any given moment.
Typical focus areas:
- Strategy process: Business Model Canvas, Value Proposition Design, hypothesis and market validation.
- AI transition in R&D: AI workflows, Kanban to steer the work, integration into existing processes, AI Act.
- Agile transformation: Scrum, Kanban, and Portfolio-Kanban in your organization.
